Hootsuite adds simplicity to Twitter, Social Media management
As Twitter evolves to become less of an exercise in personal vanity (users posting endless drivel about their personal lives) and more of a communications tool (users communicating and sharing information others might not otherwise encounter), the tools to manage one’s Twitter presence continue to evolve. The standard Twitter interface just doesn’t cut it.
In recent weeks I have tried TweetDeck, Seesmic (briefly) and Hootsuite, with the latter clearly being my tool of choice. Hootsuite makes life on Twitter simpler.
Here are a few things I like about it:
- You log into it instead of downloading the program onto your hard drive, so your Hootsuite account is available to you from any computer anywhere.
- Hootsuite allows you to manage multiple Twitter identities and to share an account with others.
- Delayed posting, link shortening, retweeting functions and many more are built into the interface.
- Searching, groups and overall account management are simple.
- There is quite a bit of integration built into the system–LinkedIn and Facebook posting, RSS feeds and much more than I have yet had time to explore.
If you’re interested in trying Hootsuite, start by watching the video on the home page. Then give it a try. I think it will add another level of usefulness to your Twitter experience.

Thanks for this, we've been using tweetdeck for a while now and it's been fine but the analytics on this look good, we'll give it a go.
I like it a lot. I did use TweetDeck for a few weeks. Let me know what you think.
